Hawaii's state fish Humuhumunukunukuapua'a is named for the demigod and shapeshifter Kama Pua'a who faced Pele in an epic battle and ultimately won by turning into this legendary fish when he touched the sea. Humuhumu represents courage, strength, and inner beauty.
