Tell us a little about yourself, Where are you originally from and what brought you to Hawaii?

Sarah: I was born and raised in a small town in Massachusetts. As a child, my family traveled quite a bit and I lived in Asia for a few years. What drew me to Hawaii was the weather, the people, and the beautiful energy here!

What inspired you to become an astrologer and specialize in reading birth charts?

Sarah: I was first introduced to astrology by a friend years ago who told me about my sun, moon, and rising signs. From there I started researching more and more and it became a huge passion that has kept drawing me back in. Astrology has helped me on my journey to align with my highest self and grow as a person. I’ve started offering readings because I enjoy connecting with people and think everyone can benefit from learning about their charts.

Can you explain what a birth chart is and why it’s important in astrology?

Sarah: Yes! Your birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment you were born. The chart is shaped like a wheel and each planet and zodiac sign are in a certain place. Each of these positions can reveal important aspects about you. Of course, we all have free will and can choose our paths in this lifetime, but our birth charts provide a road map for us and teach us about our nature. As we become more aware of our true nature, we can use this knowledge as a tool for great success.

What are some common misconceptions people have about astrology and birth charts?

Sarah: One of the most common misconceptions people have is that they know their sun Sign, and think that’s all there is to astrology. Your sun sign is just one small piece of the puzzle of ‘you’. There are many other planets to account for and much more to explore within your chart.

How can understanding one’s birth chart help with personal growth or life decisions?

Sarah: Studying our birth charts is like participating in a remembrance of who we truly are. This is powerful as it can help with greater self-awareness, compassion for ourselves and others, and alignment with our most authentic selves. Right now we live in a world with so much outside influence, that understanding and being true to ourselves is more important than ever!

Do you ever combine birth chart readings with other forms of divination or spiritual practices?

Sarah: Before my sessions, I meditate and pull a tarot card. This helps me understand the energy of the upcoming session and our direction. I am also a certified life coach, so my sessions operate like spiritual coaching. I like to listen to my clients, meet them where they are, and offer guidance with whatever they bring to the session.

What role does intuition play in interpreting birth charts, or is it strictly a technical process?

Sarah: Some astrologers are strictly technical, but I prefer to study birth charts analytically and intuitively. In my sessions, I emphasize connecting spiritually with the client. I prepare content to share beforehand, but I keep the direction of the session open-ended so that I can intuitively navigate our session to provide the most helpful information possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being an astrologer and helping others understand their charts?

Sarah: The most rewarding part for me is when a client comes to me after a session and says that it was helpful for them. I’ve had clients tell me that their perspectives on themselves and their lives have changed for the better, and they see things in a new light now. What do you like to do in your free time?

Sarah: I enjoy cooking, spending time outside in nature, and connecting with my friends. On the weekends you can find me at a coffee shop, at the beach, or researching astrology!
