Do It Like a Wahine:
Soldier, Rachel Lee

In this section, empowered women from around the world show us how they work to achieve their dreams and what it means to be a woman in today’s society.

Fresh and smiling, born with the sun in Taurus, Rachel Lee is a woman who shares incomparable energy when speaking. Mother of two kittens named Pablo and Charlie, Rachel Lee is a US Army soldier who works as a combat medic. Read on to learn more about Rachel's interesting story and how she decided to devote her professional career to serve her nation.

1. How do you practice self-care?

I practice self care by reminding myself that I should take some time for myself,” Rachel said. “I paint, play with my kittens, do a deep clean of my house, face masks, baths, or a night out with some friends.”

2. What does your average day off look like?

“My average day off is spent mostly with my husband or my kittens,” Rachel said. “I often take a date night with my husband once a week or make plans to hang out with our friends.”

3. Why did you join the military?

“I joined the military because I wanted to make something of my life but didn’t know where to start,” Rachel said. “I didn’t want to be under immense school debt just to do the same thing I can for free by joining the military.”

4. What advice would you give to yourself when you were younger?

“Don’t be in such a rush to grow up,” Rachel said. “Time flies by faster than you think, and you should enjoy every second of it. Don’t be afraid, be yourself.”

5. What is your favorite jewelry from our website? And why?

“My favorite jewelry would be the Larimar Neptune Ring,” Rachel said. “I’ve always been a fan of simplistic, yet elegant jewelry and this fits my aesthetic the best. It’s simple yet bold.”

I love this story. We must take time out for self care in our life. I love masking and taking hot baths. Makes me feel so good.

I love that the first question was self care. ❤ We get so caught up in the business of the world that we need to remind ourselves and each other to take care of ourselves. Thank you for your service, your caring attitude shows in your beauty.
