Do It Like a Wahine: Mrs. Honolulu, Alani

In Hawaiian, the word Wahine means woman. The Do it like a Wahine blog was inspired by women, for women. In this section, we give women a platform to share their stories and artistry.

By fostering stories, we gain respect and understanding of where people come from, which expands our thinking and insights in our own perspectives. Our mission is to highlight women from all around the world to support their journey, empower others and honor them with exquisite island jewelry.

Content creator, model, and mother, Alani is a Wahine who does it all. She aims to use her pageant platform to inspire and empower others to embrace life's adventures, celebrate their roots, and chase their dreams. With the unwavering support of her loving husband and the joy of motherhood fueling her every step, She is on a mission to embrace life's adventures, celebrate her unique journey, and spread love and positivity wherever she goes! Let us introduce Mrs. Honolulu, Alani White!

Alani loves our pink opal collection. When she arrived to meet us in Waikiki she wore all pink and we knew instantly what jewelry would fit her warm personality. She is wearing the Pink Opal Hatchling Honu pendant.

What inspired you to compete this year for the MRS. HAWAII title and what is your goal to support your community if you do win the crown?

Alani: Competing for the Mrs. Hawaii United States title this year was inspired by my daughter and my platform. Since I was a little girl, I had always dreamed about doing a beauty pageant but never felt I fit in or could ever do it. When I was 10 years old, I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata and was bald for many years. It did improve for some time, but I have begun losing hair again rapidly this year after many years of decreased hair loss. I wanted to show my community and daughter that despite any challenges you may face, you can still chase your dreams and live the life you want.

My goal to support my community if I do win, would be to help address many social issues plaguing Hawaii, such as environmental conservation, homelessness, and education. I will also help with mentorship programs and resources for women to achieve their goals and empower them. I will work closely with local organizations and charities to organize community events, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns to address these issues and provide support to those in need. Ultimately, my goal as Mrs. Hawaii is to serve as a beacon of hope, inspiration, and positive change in my community, fostering a brighter future for generations to come.

I know you recently started a Facebook group for women in Oahu, what do you hope to accomplish with this social platform?

Alani: Our Facebook group, Beautiful as You! - O'ahu, aims to be a haven for women in Oahu, where we celebrate the inherent beauty and strength of every member. Whether you're facing career hurdles, on a journey of self-love, or passionate about social causes, this space is yours to share, inspire, and uplift one another. The goal of this group is to create a safe and empowering environment where every woman feels valued, heard, and celebrated for who she is and to create a vibrant online community where women can come together to share their experiences, offer advice, and celebrate each other's achievements.

Members can actively participate in discussions, share their stories, and offer support to one another helps foster a culture of engagement, where we can create a more vibrant and dynamic community where everyone feels valued and heard. By networking and sharing resources, members can help expand their own networks and provide support and opportunities to each other! Members are more than welcome to post business ideas, small business offerings, or services in the group, provided that these posts align with the group's mission and values. We encourage transparency, relevance, and respectful promotion in these posts, ensuring that they provide value to the community and contribute positively to members' experiences. By fostering an environment where members can share and support each other's entrepreneurial endeavors, we aim to empower individuals to achieve their business goals while strengthening our community bonds.

We believe in the power of in-person connections and community engagement. We are a relatively new group but there are already a few events mentioned on the page for people to participate in events that align with the goals and vision of the group. We will be offering many different events such as beach days and clean-ups, outdoor events, content creation opportunities and more. If there is anything you would like to see, let us know!

How can people support you in your endeavors?
